I've been instrumental in the growth of Mews, transforming it from a startup with 4 customers to a major player with 3500+ businesses on its platform, from pre-seed to beyond Series C. My journey has been marked by innovation, a passion for excellent UX, and a deep-rooted software engineering background. Short after I left, Mews has become a Unicorn.

Leading the development and operations of a custom CMS for the purposes of an online magazine, which was featured on the landing page of the Czech search engine Seznam.cz (at that time had a bigger market share than Google in CZ). I built a team, which has replaced a highly dysfunctional outsource partner, and optimized not only the website itself, but also significantly reduced the costs needed for maintenance. The site had around 30M monthly pageviews. Apart from leading and managing the crossfunctional team, I was responsible for site availability, optimizing, scaling and speeding up the site.

We've been developing a product for Czech photo enthusiast. As a developer, that taught me how to build a real web application using technologies I knew very well. Soon after I joined, I took over the development leadership, started optimising the project and turned it into an application with viable response time. I learned that clean code is very important, but what's more important is having a valuable product that works.

It was my first project with a higher number of daily pageviews I had to keep running 24/7. Since it was based on Joomla CMS, that was not really an easy task. Later on, I built a new backoffice platform that worked with the Joomla database and the magazine is still running on it even after all those years.

Infant Growth Monitoring
I took a part in a research project by the General University Hospital in Prague, funded by the Norway EEA grant. I was developing an infant growth monitoring app, which helped doctors to understand how prematurely born babies should be developing and growing.
LinkedData research
As a PhD student, I was conducting research on new methods for automated analysis and visualization of LinkedData. Before I chose to drop out, I managed to publish a number of papers on this matter, and I won the best paper award at iiWAS2017 conference.
jergym.cz
While I still was a student at JerGym general high school in my hometown, Liberec, I was developing a full-fledged online system for the school. The suite consisted of public-facing website, a CMS, and a study information system for teachers, students and their parents.
